Un o chwedlau mwyaf adnabyddus Cymru gyda fersiynau gwahanol trwy’r wlad i gyd o’r Rhondda Fach i’r Eryri. Mae’r barddoniaeth yma wedi seilio ar y fersiwn o Sir Gar a’r Meddygon Myddfai
One of the most well known of Welsh legends with variants all over the country from the Rhondda to Snowdonia. This poetry is inspired by the Black Mountain version and the Physicians of Myddfai.
Llyn y Fan Fach
It’s so quiet I can hear the two girls breathing softly
The flowers’ scent is blown towards me by the breeze
Apple blossom changes slowly into fruit like water moving
Water splashes against the cool shady rocks
The wild deer grazes on the other side of the mountain
I choose you

Llyn y Fan Fach
We dream our father’s life
We see our Mother’s footprints
mixed with as many hoof marks
as there are rocks on the shore
The poor stony clay is scarred by the plough
Calf’s blood poisons the furrow
Our mother wakes us with the kiss of knowledge

Love Breaks
a middle aged man with a wrinkly bristly face
his shoes tied like his wife’s
to remember their golden love
the water dissolves his soles – he moans
his sweat weakens the stiches – he weeps
the rocks rip the leather – he cries
he collapses – his heart breaks – he dies
